The Glow Fund is a small charity established by Aaron Deemer and Mimi Kuo-Deemer as a way to connect individual children in China with serious health needs to people overseas who have the desire and ability to help them. As American photographers who lived in Beijing for many years but now reside in London, Aaron and Mimi have travelled extensively through China and Tibet, spending time in areas where health and healthcare are serious problems. One of the early inspirations for this fund happened on a trip to Sichuan in 2003, when Aaron met seven-year-old Dolma, a Tibetan girl with severe scoliosis. Seeing how difficult her life would be with this condition, he was able to organize an operation to straighten her spine, financed by donations from family and friends. The success of this project showed how much good was possible by connecting one remote child's need with the contributions of far-away people who wanted to help. Since then Aaron has worked on several health care and charity projects in China, most notably raising money to build a health clinic for a Tibetan community on western Sichuan. The Glow Fund has no operational expenses. 100% of all donations go help specific children with health care needs that otherwise would not be met. We are currently fund raising for operations that will be performed in 2013. Your contribution can help!
